Psych-K, Beliefs and The Subconscious Mind

By Julienne Rose

I have been involved in working with PSYCH-K in New Zealand now for several years. I also teach Psych-K workshops in Australia and New Zealand. A commonly asked question is how and why is it that beliefs are so important in our lives.

This is a fascinating question and to answer it we need to know how the subconscious mind works.

Nature has evolved an incredibly efficient system for ensuring our survival in the environment in which we are born, by providing us with a huge download of information into our subconscious mind about our environment, ourselves and our significant relationships in the early stages of our life. This would be perfect in an ideal environment where the messages and information we received were reinforcing our beliefs that we are safe, worthy, lovable etc. The problems arise when our environment is less than desirable. So the information we absorb is that our world is unsafe, and that we are unworthy or unloved. This false information is implanted in our subconscious as the truth.

When we choose to leave that environment and embark on our own quest in life, we take with us all the foundational beliefs from childhood. Some of these beliefs are less than enhancing and less supportive than we would wish. We may try to develop ourselves through self development, reading, meditation, coaching, counselling, etc. However, until we can transform the limiting beliefs that exist in our subconscious, we carry on manifesting them in our relationships, our actions, our whole life.

The subconscious level of the mind is where real and lasting change occurs. Ninety-five percent of what we think, see, feel, say and do is controlled by our subconscious mind. So we need to learn how to communicate with the subconscious level of the mind in order to make the changes we want to see at the conscious level. PSYCH-K is a technique that shows us how to access and communicate in that way. We need to align the subconscious and the conscious minds to experience a natural flow in our lives. This flow brings more ease and joy into our lives.

I find working with the subconscious mind, an incredibly fascinating process. PSYCH-K techniques teach us the ability to "talk" to the mind and to bring about change in the un-supporting beliefs stored within it.

It is worthwhile learning how to access and communicate with the subconscious mind in its own language. By using these powerful PSYCH-K techniques people can begin to immediately change their limiting subconscious beliefs and begin transforming their lives!
